Since the popular Chevy Silverado 1500 got a nice refresh in 2022, we expect mostly subtle changes in the 2023 versions at Shaheen Chevrolet in Lansing, MI. While complete details about the newest Chevy Silverado 1500 aren’t available as of this writing, it’s expected that some of the recently upgraded cabin design details might make their way down to the more basic trims. The new Chevy Silverado 1500 will continue to offer strong engine choices.
Based on our industry sources, the 2023 Chevy Silverado will offer three gasoline-powered engines, including a turbo-four, a muscular 5.3-liter V8 and an even more muscular 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower. Truck buyers from East Lansing and Charlotte MI will also be able to choose the fuel economy and durability of a Duramax turbo-diesel. Automatic transmissions will be 8-speed or 10-speed and four-wheel drive will be available.
Our sources indicate the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 will once again come with your choice of three cabin configurations: Regular, Double Cab and Crew Cab. And once again, it’s anticipated that the new Silverado 1500 will offer three bed lengths. Those should be similar to the 2022 metrics which include a 5.8-ft Short bed, a 6.6-ft Standard bed and a big 8.1-ft Long bed.
Stories appearing in trade publications indicate that the inside of the 2023 Silverado 1500 will continue to offer some of the best features from 2022. One report talks about a dashboard that would include a massive 13.4-inch touchscreen that would be part of at least the LTZ Premium trim and above. There may also be a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster in this new Chevy truck for 2023.
The LTZ Premium level – the Silverado 1500’s second-highest trim – is expected to have some new upscale features as part of the package for 2023. Reports describe an interior highlighted by Jet Black leather and a Technology Package that will have a digital rear-view mirror. Also for the LTZ Premium (“LTZ” = “Luxury Touring Z”), sources expect to see a 15-inch color head-up display and a camera that will let you keep an eye on the bed.
We anticipate that the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 will continue many of the same advanced safety technology that’s part of the 2022 Silverado 1500 models. A good example is the standard blind-spot alert system that lets you know when another vehicle has moved into a nearby position that you might not be able to see. An additional feature alerts you when another vehicle or a pedestrian is about to cross behind you.
Some of the Silverado 1500’s most significant safety additions for 2022 included automatically-dimming high beams when another vehicle is approaching at night. In addition, a pedestrian detection system and a rear-view camera mirror were added. We expect all that vital safety technology will once again be available on the 2023 Chevy Silverado pickup to help protect our valued customers in communities like Mason MI.
